LITTLE TRIGGER WARNING: I'm going to be talking about the political state of the world and specifically the US, discussions of abortion and gender roles.
Hi there. I'm still quite new to Reddit and haven't written a lot, but I feel like some advice from strangers is going to help me in this situation.
My boyfriend and I have been together for a little over a year. We practically live together and I feel really at peace and good with him. We have a lot in common and it was love at first sight when we first met each other.
Recently, some discussions have taken place and I'm not quite sure what do to with them:
- I've always wanted kids. Ever since I was a little girl, it was one of my biggest dreams to raise my own children. I still want that. When I asked my boyfriend in the beginning of the relationship, he was open to having kids. We both wanted two and didn't talk about it for some time. About a month ago, we went out shopping with some friends and the topic came up again. He said he didn't want to have children for another 7 years, to which I responded that I'd be 30 by that time and I thought that was too late for me to start trying for a first kid. My mother had some fertility issues when she entered her 30's and I'm scared I'll also have the same issues, so I do want to start trying around when I'm 27-29 years old. My boyfriend got a bit upset and blew me off by saying that he didn't want to talk about it and didn't know why we were fighting about it. I told him we weren't, we were just talking. It wasn't anything heated. A couple of days ago, I was talking to his little sister who has become a close friend of mine and we were just talking about kids, not our discussion in particular. She said that no one ever thought my boyfriend would want to have children and that only really came into the picture when I did. So now I'm a bit scared that he only agreed to have kids because he knows I really want them. I know it's early in the relationship and I don't want to have kids for another +- 5 years, but it is non-negotiable for me and if it turns out he doesn't want kids after all, I don't know how to go about it.
- I think we've all seen the political climate of the world in the past days. My boyfriend and I don't live in the US, but he's quite fond of Mr. Donald Trump. I'm not. At the inauguration, some questionable things happened that I'm sure everyone has their own opinion of, and I spoke out about mine. I thought it was unacceptable and disgusting, and my boyfriend immediately came to the defense of Mr. Elon Musk and said that he didn't do what he did and that the media is all portraying it wrong. I want to have a conversation about it with him, but he blows it off every time I start talking about it. He sighs and rolls his eyes at me and makes sure to let me know that he doesn't want to talk about it. This adds onto another political discussion we have sometimes: the abortion one. I'm pro-choice. I don't know if I could ever get an abortion if I were to find out I was pregnant because of the mental toll it takes on a person, but I will also never tell anyone what to do with their body. I've never lived the experience of having to consider an abortion, but I will never tell another person what to do regarding that. I respect everyone's opinion on it and if you think abortion is murder, that's fine by me. But I will never stand for telling another person what to do with their body, hence the reason I'm pro-choice. My boyfriend is pro-life and thinks abortion should be illegal and that it's murder. He's not religious and he doesn't believe in people having a soul, but he does believe that a fetus has the right to live from the moment of conception and that the person carrying the child should not have the right to remove it. I'm having quite a hard time with this, and while I've tried multiple times to explain why I'm pro-choice, he seemingly can't respect it and gets almost mad when we talk about it. Little side note: He's also a firm believer that women should work less and the man is destined to work and the woman is destined to care for the household, and I still can't really wrap my mind around that since I do work full-time and am very career-oriented.
- As you can see in the title, there is a 5 year age difference between me and my boyfriend. He's nearing his 30's and I'm clearly not yet. This year, I set a goal for myself to save some extra money to buy a nice car at the end of the year. I work full-time and have been driving old rusty cars for years. Don't get me wrong, I love my rusty old car, but I think by the end of this year I deserve an upgrade. My boyfriend bought a new car a few months back, because his old car stopped working. When I told him about me wanting to buy a new car at the end of the year, he started talking about how we should save up to buy a house. I agree on some part, and I have already been saving up for that as well, but I do want to get a nicer, slightly newer car than the one I'm driving now and I have set that as a priority for this year. I also know that my boyfriend is really bad at saving money, is still paying off his car payment and wants to start a new, quite expensive hobby soon. It feels like his timeline for buying a house is in the next year or two years, but I just think that's unrealistic. I've asked him how he feels about buying an apartment first, so we already have something and since it's just us two, we don't need an entire house, but he doesn't want that. I'm also just not sure I already want to buy a house in the next two years. I'll be 25 by then and it feels really soon.

This doctor seems to be understanding and changed my birth control to hire estrogen to help with my symptoms and I’ve been feeling good. Challenges I have some physical symptoms I feel itchy and dry, etc. I brought it up to the doctor. They do test tests and swabs and confirm I don’t have any type of bacterial infection but when I’ve asked about topical estrogen cream, I’m shrugged off. So this leads me on my quest to find the best cream and how you went about purchasing it.

I'm not saying that conventionally attractive people don't have the right to be insecure, or that their insecurities are invalid. But I hate how people always go "Oh, but hot people get insecure too!" to try and make someone who actually has conventionally unattractive features feel better. The fact is that people who possess conventionally unattractive features, such as flat chests, narrow hips, broad shoulders,or boxy figures for women(not gonna talk about men, because I feel like as a woman, my field of expertise in terms of insecurities lies in AFAB people). Insecurities are not equal, at all, regardless of ones personal feelings. Someone who looks the complete opposite of the societal ideal has far more reason to hate their appearance than someone with a curvy hourglass figure. And while yes, conventionally hot girls obviously have insecurities, and their feelings should never be invalidated, having insecurities while still having your appearance praised by every form of media, and there being literal evidence that your body type has been hardwired into men's minds to be considered the most attractive by literal evolution, is a very different experience to looking the opposite of what society considers desirable. They are NOT equal experiences, and shouldn't be treated as such. And yet again, this isn't me hating on hot girls. Hell, I'd never tell a curvy or busty girl that she shouldn't feel insecure because she's the ideal. All I'm saying is that when someone tries to say that a hot girl being insecure, and an "ugly" girl being insecure is the same thing, it's complete nonsense.

Почну свою історію з того,що в далекому 2016 році я випадково познайомився з дівчиною в соціальній мережі. Зрозуміло,що все почалося з банального знайомства та розповідей про те , як хто провів час в навчальному закладі або ж на вихідних. Що не день,впізнавали про один одного щось нове та цікаве , спілкувались за їх сім'ю та свою відповідно. Через рік активного спілкування , ми почали говорити про зустріч ,тому що були зацікавленні в один одному , але недостача коштів та в ці роки ми ще не були повнолітніми ,що давало нам на стільки вільних дій в ті моменти . Вже взимку під час новорічних свят , я зрозумів , що пора брати ініціативу в руки та їхати на зустріч до неї , накопичуючи коміка за копійкою , я запропонував зустрітись після нового року - вона зраділа і була реально щаслива , що цей день настав ( і я в свою чергу також). До приїзду в місто,куда вона також приїхала для відпочинку на новорічні свята , ми бачили один одного лише на пару фотографій які в нас були на сторінках в соціальній мережі. І ось,наступив цей день,коли я виходжу з потяга і просто щасливими очима виглядаю цю дівчину. При виході з будівлі вокзалу , прямо перед вхідними дверима я переглядаючи очі незнайомих людей, побачив її ,вона в свою чергу зрозуміла , що це я. Момент,і ми вже обіймаємо один одного,емоції , думки про те,що це сталося , переповнювали нас двох. На жаль,я зміг приїхати до неї лише на один день. На той момент в неї був хлопець,але він лояльно ставився до нашої зустрічі між мною та нею,тому все пройшло дуже добре. Вона показала мені цей город,ми заходили в дуже цікаві місця і я продовжував дивуватись та надихатись цією людиною. Після закінчення дня , ми пішли в сторону вокзалу , щоб попрощатись та поїхати додому. І ось наступив цей момент прощання , ми подякували один одного, а потім вона обняла мене,так сильно і люблячи , що не хотіла відпускати ,я запам'ятав цей приємний момент більше всього. Я пообіцяв приїхати ще раз,як тільки буде змога . Після повернення додому я кілька днів був загублений в думках про неї та її особистість. Після зустрічі наше спілкування не припинялось , ми так і продовжували спілкування та ділилися нашими спільними враженнями нашої зустрічі. Приблизно через рік,ми домовилися зустрітися знову,тому що, почали сумувати один за одним. Але ця зустріч,була не такою,як перша. Цього разу , ця прогулянка була дещо холоднішою та недуже веселою по відношенню до мене. Цього разу вона привела з собою подругу і знову свого ж хлопця. Ми домовились піти в місцевий бар та випити за зустріч і трішки розслабитись, під час відпочинку в барі, ми з нею не очікувано для себе майже не спілкувалися , мені довелося вести діалог з її подругою , та трішки з її хлопцем,чомусь цього разу вона не дуже хотіла про щось цікавитись та вести діалог зі мною. Після закінчення нашої зустрічі , вона не пішла зі мною до вокзалу , але зі мною була її подруга,що дала згоду пройтись зі мною, я її подругу не знав, і на той момент вона не була мері цікавою,щоб про щось говорити. Ми попрощались, і я поїхав назад додому,чомусь в мене було більше холодних та не розібраних в собі думок на рахунок цієї зустрічі. Невдовзі після повернення додому,ми почали все менше і менше спілкуватись один з одним,та ділитись чимось,іноді вона взагалі пропадала з мережі і не давала про себе знати,як потом виявилось,вона посварилась з хлопцем та розійшлась з ним (не перший раз). І тут , я зрозумів,що потрібно діяти,я хотів подарувати її щастя,щоб вона завжди посміхалась,бути поруч , та будувати з нею майбутнє. Але, вона не захотіла цього,спираючись на відстань та страх , що нічого не вийде. Я опустив руки,та більше ми майже не спілкувалися , іноді раз в пару місяців запитати один в одного як справи...
Мовчання між нами вже триває не один рік. На той момент я не думав,що це колись трапиться. Я просто поділився історією,тому що , загадав про неї , і захотілось десь написати про це. Дякую.
