2025.01.24 17:31 FlatAssembler Does the widespread boycott of Kaufland and Lidl in Croatia make sense? Many people believe that Lidl and Kaufland and possibly Konzum have formed a price-gouging cartell to increase the food prices, and that boycotting them is the solution.
I've heard many people say it's the inflation caused by government printing money that causes those rises in prices, but isn't that proven wrong by the fact that Croatia switched from Kuna to Euro and prices continued rising at an even higher rate? Croatian government now has no power to endlessly print money, it's using Euro, the same currency the entire European Union uses. Yet prices are rising in Croatia much faster than in Germany. Besides, if it was the inflation to blame, we would expect wages to rise as well, wouldn't we? But wages have barely risen, and telecommunication prices basically haven't risen at all. It's basically only the food prices that are rising. 10 years ago, Croatia was known as a country with low wages, but also low food prices. These days, wages in Croatia are a fraction of the wages in Germany, but food prices are the same or often even higher.
I've heard some people say it's the shortage of wheat and similar "raw materials" that causes this, but prices of wheat have stayed constant since 2020. Not to mention that explanation is incompatible with modern economics, as it's based on the labour theory of value, right?
Some people are blaming taxes and tarrifs for this, but those have been decreasing or stayed the same, and the prices of food have increased.

2025.01.24 17:31 Own-Fan-834 Advice for light / fine leg hair & post-holiday tan
I have had 3 sessions so far and then have had a 3 month break as I’ve been travelling.
The hair on my legs has always been quite fair, so I rarely bothered to shave them (c. every 3-4 weeks), but as I decided to have laser on my bikini, I figured it would be great to do my legs at the same time.
I know that more than 3 sessions are needed for effective results, but I’ve noticed that my hairs now seem to grow straight up, where they used to grow along my leg. So I feel they are much more noticeable now than before. I’ve also noticed that some seem are longer than before.
Should I continue with treatment? Or am I likely to make the situation worse because my hair is too fair?
Also, as I’ve been outside a lot whilst I’ve been away, I’ve ended up with a tan. Do I need to wait for this to fade entirely before I continue with treatments? Or can I continue so long as I haven’t had exposure for the 2 weeks suggested? How do people deal with this in hot environments (I’m Australian)? Do you only get your treatments at the end of winter after the tan has faded?
Final point to note - I use sunscreen and never intentionally sunbake. My skin has ended up much more tanned than usual, simply from being active and outdoors a lot recently. I’m at least 2-3 shades darker than usual so I’ll be waiting a while for it to fade completely!

As we have only now become aware due to a lack of public reporting, the Berlin district of Steglitz-Zehlendorf passed a resolution on February 21, 2024 to apply to become a model region for cannabis model projects. The application was previously submitted jointly by the Greens, SPD and FDP. Our overview of interested municipalities, districts and states thus grows to 28 entries.
Cannabis model project interested municipalities and federal states in Germany According to the Federal Ministry of Health, with the entry into force of the Cannabis Act, "regional model projects with commercial supply chains" are to be created. This approach pursues the goal of effectively curbing the black market, strengthening the protection of minors and protecting the health of consumers. At the same time, the model offers the opportunity to test new regulations for regulation and legal distribution in practice. Through scientific support, the economic, health and social effects of regulated dispensing can be measured and evaluated. These findings could help to realistically assess the opportunities and challenges of possible legalization throughout Germany and the EU.

Our e-commerce business ran a donation campaign for a US natural disaster that occurred in 2023. We matched all donations 100%. Through one social media post, the program went absolutely viral. We were on CNN, GMA, MSNBC, NYTimes, hundreds of regionals, and so on. Our site DA went from 7 to 43 in a matter of about two months.
While this sounds awesome on its face, a few problems emerged:
1) Our spam score also went from 1% to 12% and I can't figure out how to fix it because the spammiest sites linking to us are also high DA sites (local news outlets). I have disavowed some of these that were part of a link network, according to SEMRush.
2) We rank for keywords we don't want to rank for. Like number 1 for donation-related searches. Keywords with no commercial value and the only time we're showing up as the top result is when someone Google's the program. We're not running the program anymore so I want to shift the traffic elsewhere on the site.
3) I've tried building links to other pages to offset this but the task seems monumental: 1000+ referring domains, 90% of which are all linking back to one donation page on our site.
I've talked with SEO specialists out there and they are quoting me 10s of thousands of dollars or just tell me it's impossible to fix it, delete the page and redirect, commercialize the page somehow. I don't know what to do.

Ok so for context, I'm a 20 year old man, a little over a year ago I use to go to a lot of parties, hangout out with a bunch of people and like go outside. I would want to skate, hangout and I liked being in social areas. I still want to hang out with people but like I don't put in effort to do so anymore. I mostly go outside to go to classes and the gym, and then I go back to my dorm. I feel like I just don't want to be outside anymore. It's weird cause I caught myself a few time getting tired like my body physically starts to get sleepy and I need to sit down when I'm like on a date with my girlfriend. which is just crazy cause I don't know how that happened. I do think part of it is the city I live in. And I feel like I also don't talk to as many people cause I'm getting older and want closer friends instead of just people I hangout with. I also don't talk to any girls in general out of respect for my girlfriend. I just feel weird about who I am right now. Like is something wrong with me?

Hi,
At the beginning of my LC experience, a few months after my first (awful) infection, I became very sick. Distended stomach, projectile vomiting, pain, fever, etc. My GP ended up sending me to hospital where they found I had AAC - essentially a gallbladder infection, without the gallstones. They had absolutely no idea what to do, as apparently they basically never see it without gallstones. My gallbladder had thickened walls, was very inflamed, you could feel it through my belly despite it being huge with gases.
I had the odd few flare ups in the weeks / months afterwards, and the fatigue which settled in never went away. There’s never been any explanation why this happened with my gallbladder, and repeated scans afterwards still showed no gallstones, no fatty liver, etc.
Now.. I’ve seen some recent articles about covid infecting the GI system, and lingering in some patients. I wondered.. could this have been related to covid? Maybe a reinfection or something? I wondered if anyone else had experienced strange gallbladder symptoms after covid too?
