2025.01.29 05:51 Neat_Maintenance_632 ESP32 with Embedded Screen Not Connecting
I’ve got an ESP32 with an embedded screen (no separate pins, just the display). I’ve been trying to get it working with the Arduino IDE, but I’m stuck. Here’s what’s happening:
- The ESP32 isn't showing up in the Arduino IDE when I try to upload a sketch. It's connected via USB, and I’ve tried different cables and ports but nothing works.
- I’ve followed the process to enter bootloader mode, pressing and holding the BOOT button, plugging in the USB, and then releasing the BOOT button after a couple of seconds.
- However, the screen stays blank, and I don’t see anything in the Arduino IDE or Device Manager saying the board is recognized.
- In Device Manager, I see COM1 (idk if thats it or not), but when I try to upload, I keep getting the "Failed to connect to ESP32" error in the IDE.
- even tried running esptool to erase the flash, but no luck.

After a wild weekend, I turned my attention to $ANF. The stock recently dropped almost 20%, and while I’m not entirely sure why—maybe it’s just profit-taking as the new year kicks off combined with possible fears of inflation—I see a potential buying opportunity here. Company guidance appears strong heading into 2025, with management reporting solid holiday demand and positive sales trends. They’ve also got a tailwind from the NFL playoffs and upcoming Super Bowl, thanks to their NFL license for unique apparel offerings, which should help pad their stats this quarter. Along with 5 analysts revising their earnings upwards for the upcoming period.
On the fundamentals side, this is exactly the kind of company I like: since ’23, they’ve shown consistent revenue growth, profit growth, and free cash flow growth, all underpinned by an impressive gross margin, and cash flows sufficiently cover interest on debt. If the economic backdrop and consumer spending remain resilient, 2025 could deliver more of the same. Right now, the stock trades at a P/E of around 11 and boasts a free cash flow yield of about 8–9%—roughly double what you’d get from a U.S. Treasury.
Of course, the biggest risk is a slowdown in consumer spending or a broader economic downturn. I suspect valuation got a bit stretched, and jitters over inflation and rising bond yields may have scared some investors away. But with shares finding support around the 120 level, the risk/reward is starting to look enticing. It’s definitely something I’m keeping on my watchlist. As always, do your own research—but this one looks interesting to me.

My brother over a small argument told me that I should go fuck with our landlord teenage son as a joke. I told him that he shouldn’t talk about such things with me. Then he said there’s a stranger who walks around with his husky then I should go and have sex with him. I got mad and I told him that he should fuck his girlfriend‘s mom, then he got very triggered. For context I am a trans woman and I didn’t appreciate it his commenting about my sex life, but he then said he was trying to make me more of towards it, and he talks about sex with his other friends who are girls, and it’s a common thing, what I did was wrong because I hurt him. He said he was just rage baiting me to open my mind. Am I the asshole ?

i want to try it specifically for cc subs, as most of my df have lighter iris (mostly green and blue) i have brown eyes i don't mind them changing to light brown or even hazel is okk but all cc subs have df's iris affs or if desired affs (but i can't trust my subconscious).

I am a high-functioning sociopath. More commonly, and correctly nowadays, it's known as "anti-social personality disorder", but I don't like my life being characterised as a disorder.

I (26F) broke up with my girlfriend (23NB) last week. We have been together for three and a half years at this point. I love them dearly still and it hurts. We were long-distance and in separate countries.
High Functioning Sociopaths have multiple characteristics and qualities, but the most notable traits include:
- Manipulation
- Insincerity
- Lack of remose
- Disregard for others
They wanted to break up with me but didn't want to because they were genuinely concorned that I would kill myself (I have spoken two or three times about how I wish euthanasia were legal, and not available to exclusively terminal patients, and how if it were legal, I would have taken it around the time I was 20). I broke up with them thinking that may have given them peace of mind.
Part of the reason I chose to break up with them, despite peace of mind was needs ot being met. I offered to come visit them, or offered to pay for their flight to here(!! (I work in a high-paying job)), but was shot down at multiple times each time I asked about it, even called pushy. And when I broke up with them, I was told that I have been nagging for attention, and they felt like they needed to give me attention 24/7 which they were unable to.
They even said they stopped hanging out with IRL friends, because they didn't want to have to check their phone every 5 mins so I don't feel ignored. Yes, I like attention. I love it, even. But I'm not going to sit there and nag for attention.
I've been told I've crossed boundaries, and at times, yes. I do think I am the problem here. I don't know where boundaries, are, even when discussed. With the friends thing, it sounded to me like they wished to be left alone while with friends, and I understand that, but that was never once said to me directly. A lot of things go in one ear, and out the other. And I try to understand and try to respect boundaries, and I promise I try, I really do, but I can't notice them being overstepped without being told.
I just feel bad because I feel like, though we are both at fault here, I feel like me overstepping their boundaries is a large reason as to why we broke up.
I love them.
And I miss them.

i have been eating consistently for a couple months now over 3000 calories and can’t gain a single pound i’m at less than 4 percent body fat and my only weight is muscle but i am 17 and weight 130 i don’t think i look bad but after all the work i put it id love to see gain. im eating the recommended proteins fats and carbs. i drink a couple protein shakes a day and eat multiple lunches and dinners yet nothing ever changes my weight. it will also fluctuate day to day one day im sitting 125 the next im 132 then 124 then 130 it’s so random.

When I accepted my FA for spring 2025 I was told I was getting around 1k. Cool. I sign up for 1 class + its lab and another lec. I get my disbursement back of around 100 bucks
On Saturday I was informed I HAD to have the lab for the other lec i signed up for. I signed up on the last day and it showed a due balance on my account which I planned to pay.
When I go to pay my dues, the amount due is gone and says it was paid by the Silver State grant. This was normal, but now it also says I'm getting a refund of 1k ? I don't understand where this extra money is coming from. Is it because I signed up for another class?
