I played this game long before reading the WoT books but as I read them, I noticed so many things from this game. I happened to humble across a blog post from someone who resear he'd tge author's (Robert Jordan) notes from the original script. Many details were changed to what the series is now but read this and tell me this doesn't sound familiar:
"The first idea for Wheel of Time that Robert Jordan had was what can be best described as "a bit crazy". It was essentially George R.R. Martin on acid. This story contains some crumbs of the final Wheel of Time narrative but also significant differences.
In this version, the ultimate enemy is a humanoid creature called Sa'khan. Unlike the later Shai'tan, the Dark One, Sa'khan was not a godlike being. Instead, Sa'khan was a powerful and apparently immortal alien warlord from another dimension. He could cross into other worlds via portals. During the First Great War - later the War of the Shadow or War of Power - he attempted to invade Earth but was halted. During this war he was served by half-human, half-demon minions called the Forsaken. At the end of the war the gateway between his world and Earth was sealed shut and all was well. Periodically the Forsaken, some of whom had survived, would try to reopen the gateway, leading to the Second Great War (which later became the Trolloc Wars) but ultimately they failed."
The Aes Sedai, who are the primary force in tge world, live in the White Tower, on an island next to the largest mountain, like the EK town in the mountains. The portals they create are called "Gates" like the power in EK. And there's a bunch more.

I’m tired of hearing this! That’s all he ever says to me, “you’re the cutest.” Literally the only compliment his brain can come up with.
After i broke down a year ago to him about this. I can’t tell whether he’s talking to me or our dog.. It just pisses me off at this point.
Does he not think I’m sexy? Or can he only correlate that word with the online girls that used to arouse him?

2025.01.30 22:04 Dalatirox Starting to doubt my ability as a Latte Art Trainer
I have been promoted to Latte Art Trainer at my current work place, texture, flow all that good ish.
But I already feel challenged by the current wave of baristas I am training.
None of them have had previous experience, and what saddens me is they seem so disinterested in learning (like why do you work at a specialty shop???)
I feel like ive done everything I can think of as far as teaching methods, watching them pour, seeing how they hold their cup vs their pitcher, their vortex, their aeration etc etc, and I really do think my advice is adaptable to the person im with, but the results they give are one ear and out the other,
not to mention they don't feel the need to practice when im not around.
Im at a loss my fellow baristas, any other trainers feel like they run into this problem?
Any ideas on how to combat it?
