My sibling transitioned a couple years ago, M to F, and it’s been hard for me to adjust pronoun usage and stuff like that!
It’s definitely getting easier, and I find that I refer to them more by feminine pronouns way more now than at first, when I was only using gender neutral pronouns.
I’m definitely more progressive than the rest of my family and have taken this better than them. They’re slowly coming around though! I’ve found that they started almost copying me with gender neutral language! My sibling seems to be fine with this and taking it way better than when they were using masculine language! When they were using masculine language after she first transitioned, she refused to be around them (validly so). Now when they’re using gender neutral language she is rebuilding a relationship!
Is this fine? How would you feel as a transgender person?
I want to support them as much as possible but it can be tough to change your entire perception of someone so quickly

Every time I attempt to charge my MacBook, it says my battery isn’t charging but it is plugged in! The charger works fine, & I’ve tried multiple USB-C chargers. When I check Battery Health, it says it is normal. I’m not sure why it gives me that message and takes a really long time to charge.

I would want to ask for an unban since I got manually banned from someone. One guy was talking sh1t ab me the whole game etc and i only called him a dog one time and he said wait 1 hour and you get ban. And after, i played one more game before i got unsportsmanlike conduct ban 1 week without any warning at all. I even played with premades the whole day (didnt play 1 week) and no one from my team reported me. 2025.02.01 22:08 OddyUlrich 7900 XT vs 4070 Super? 9800x is good enough? Lots of questions
Hi guys, I had a fire a while ago and the insurance company is going to give me some money for a new computer, so I'm quite excited about it. I'm from Spain and my budget is 1870 €. I'll use it mostly for gaming at 1080p or 1440p at 60fps minimum. I apologize in advance if any sentence is confusing as English is not my first language.
The problem is that I don't follow hardware news very much, although I know some theory about it. Since I don't usually have the funds to buy something good I'm pretty scared with this build. I'm a programmer and I have multiple screens so I do a lot of multitasking, but my main focus is gaming. To give examples, the ‘recent’ games that I'm interested in and I think are more demanding would be Baldur's Gate 3, Dragon's Dogma, Helldivers 2 and the announced Monster Hunter Wilds and Avowed. I tend to play a lot of indies, but I don't think it's necessary to mention them.
I've made the build below, but looking around I've come across quite a few questions that I'm not really finding a clear answer to:
I've seen all the new DLSS 4 stuff and the truth is that it looks amazing, but I don't know how it compares to AMD's FSR, I've seen people say it's worse, others that it's the same... I've noticed differences, but obviously it depends on the game. I say this because I'm in doubt to choose between the 4070 SUPER or the 7900 XT. I've seen that the 7900XT usually gives more FPS, but I don't know if the NVIDIA DLSS could ‘catch up’ the difference, especially in 7 or 8 years. I really like the motherboard for its simplicity compared to the one I have now (a B450M Aorus elite if I remember correctly...). Everything seems much easier to assemble and the inputs and outputs seem perfect to me, although it is true that for the case I would love more USB type C, but oh well. I say this because I think it's a bit overkill and for this price range something cheaper would probably be enough (?).
I still have to look at the ‘resizable bar’ issue. Especially to see that the GPU and CPU are compatible with each other. Right now I'm about to get the Ryzen 9700x, but I really have no idea how to check or look at a bottleneck beyond making sure they're more or less in the same range. I've heard that the X3D processors are a nice jump in power, but I don't know if there's a way to get one for the build while keeping the same graphics power (not sure if I'm making myself clear, I hope so).
And now to finish this huge text, and apologizing for my ignorance, I have no idea about GPU brands or anything similar. I've seen around that I should avoid Asus in general... that SSDs have too many and I only look at write and read speeds... That the graphics cards have ‘OC, EAGLE, TWIN EDGE, E, SFF, etc’ in the name and I have no idea about any of that haha.

I’m way out of my depth here. My friend from Nigeria wanted to go to a livestock auction and get a goat and process it at my house. I want to use as much as we can and not waste anything but I quickly realized I have no idea how to tan a goat hide. The skinning can’t be much different from a deer, I’ll figure it out, but I’ve never tanned a hide. I’d like to be able to make something out of it, can work with a tanned hide once I get it that far. What do I use? Egg yolks? Olive oil? I see brains online? I would rather crack an egg than a skull.

There's a strange turn of phrase in the article: "The Report, its origins and its significance still remain key items in the mythology of 1950s New Zealand social history.This is not to deny the importance of the Report; however, its real significance has been obscured by inaccurate accounts in popular histories and newspaper and magazine articles. "
This sentence reads to me (UK based) as one written presuming that the reader already knows about it, but I don't follow. Is this report something that looms large in the popular imagination in NZ? Like, is it like McCarthyism or something - something where the generalities are pointed to but not all the details remembered?

I had two a series backs converted to the 28-56mm format. The backs give 24 frames on a 120 roll. Mr. Zhang also does a P27 conversion that is 22x56 and gives 27 frames. The conversions took about four months and cost about $300 plus whatever the cost was of the back. Mr. Zhang cleaned and lubed the backs and installed new light seals. I tested one of them today and am happy with the results. Three of the 24 frames had slightly tight spacing but not enough to be an issue.
