What is this and will my house fall down? So I am repairing a rotted porch. My house is built on a perimeter foundation (dirt in the center) it appears there’s a bottom plate, short studs and then a 4x4 beam (or maybe stacked 2x4? Hard to tell) and then the floor joist of the house. The “4x4” has significant rot. Trying to do research but hard to find info on this sort of wall structure. Why weren’t the walls built straight onto the foundation? Also feeling like this should be closed in?? The previous deck was plywood. I’ll be replacing it with osb, cover it in blueskin and then deck board over top

O recomendaciones de autos proyectos. No será auto de diario pero eventualmente me gustaría sacarlo 3-4 veces a la semana en un trayecto redondo de 20k sobre carretera

So my Home insurance provider increased rates like 40% so we switched providers just after renewal.
They issued us a refund check ~10 days ago. Our mortgage company was starting to ask where it was so I called up the insurance company.
They sent the check to my old address…
I shit you not they told me “That was the address we had on file”
If any company in the world should have my correct home address you would think it would be my home insurance right?

I have this friend (Chris) who doesn’t really hang out with a lot of people. They’re introverted and have mentioned feeling lonely sometimes, so I’ve tried to go out of my way to make plans with them.
But he will literally almost always cancel last minute. Like, I’ll clear my schedule, make reservations, or plan something I know he'd enjoy, and then he'll text me a few hours before saying he's 'not feeling up to it.' Which I get but its so.. and he's always super apologetic, but it’s becoming a pattern.
It’s frustrating because I genuinely want to spend time with him, and I feel like I’m putting in all this effort while he isn't meeting me halfway. At the same time, I get that he might just be going through something, so I don’t want to push too hard or make him feel bad. But it’s starting to feel one-sided, and I don’t know if I should say something or just let it go.
Am I overreacting for being upset about this? Should I just accept that this is how he is??
