2024.11.24 20:40 justtomicrowaveramen Tough grader?
Anyone ever have a professor where you feel like you can't do anything right? I am in my senior year now, I have like 12 classes left to graduate. It's a 200s course at that and I cannot get over a B+/A-. Which i know is still good but I've had a 4.0 my whole time in school and now this professor is going to end that it seems. It's always a citation issue or I am not writing well enough to get the highest score on the rubric. I am doing the same quality work I always have. I have had professors tell me in the past how incredible my writing is and I often end courses with 100s on every assignment. Yet this time apparently nothing I do is good enough. In my 300 course I'm in right now as well I am getting 100s on everything so what's the issue?? I want to email her and just ask what in the world I can do to score better cause this is ridiculous. It's making me not want to try. I read the rubric comments but even then I do not see how I am not meeting criteria. It's so frustrating. Ugh what to do? Just shut up and deal?

2024.11.24 20:40 gr00ve88 Is there any way to change a print mid-print?
Long story short I’m printing 4 pieces. I’m 3 hours into a 6 hour print and two of the smaller ones detached from the plate. But the two bigger ones seem unaffected.
Is there a way to stop the print, remove the badly printed models, and have it continue only just the two working ones?
I am using Bambu sliceprinter..

2024.11.24 20:40 Responsible-Pen6265 UV Light Question
My AC stopped working today and a tech came out to diagnosed the issue. He found that the AC blower was bad, and I'm getting a new one under warranty (unit is 2 years old). While he was here, he noticed the UV light I had installed at the time of the new unit was installed incorrectly. He said the airflow arrow was pointed the wrong way, it wasn't wired correctly, and it didn't shut off automatically when the fan was on so it caused the light to burn out. A little backstory, I have been smelling a weird chemical smell since the new unit was installed. It happens a few times a month and it is so bad I usually have to stay in a hotel room with my daughter. I mentioned it when the unit was installed but they said it was just a new smell from all the new ducts and new unit and that it would go away, which it didn't. During my semi-annual maintenence visits, I have mentioned it each time and they said they don't smell anything and it must not be the AC, even though the smell started the day of installation. Could the smell I have been noticing be from the incorrectly installed UV light?

2024.11.24 20:40 Ill_Ad_1122 Should I switch my major from CS to IT?
Sorry in advance for the long post. I switched majors a million times before deciding ya know what, let’s try computer science. LOVED my CS1 class learning the basics of C++. Weirdly enough didn’t pay attention much in my Intro to Networking class, as I was so convinced I wanted to do programming.
That first semester after switching to CS, I got an internship doing IT/Cyber. I absolutely fell in love with it. Now I’m working at a local MSP as a Network Admin (again.. didn’t pay attention in Intro to Networking lmfao). I got so incredibly lucky and I love the stuff that I’m doing at work. I chose CS so I didn’t have to work with a bunch of people like I originally wanted to (healthcare), but now I actually like this nice middle ground.
I’m really hating my CS2 class where we’re delving into data structures, memory management, recursion, etc. It is so unbelievably boring to me, and I’m struggling to understand parts of it because I just DONT want to pay attention. I want to work. I just know that my Data Structures and Algorithm Analysis classes next semester are going to kick my ass. I didn’t exactly struggle with most of the math requirements, hated Calc 2 and currently scraping by in Discrete Math (love the ideas! Hate doing it).
Should I just bite the bullet and switch to IT instead? It makes me feel so stupid switching, honestly. Like I can’t handle the classes.. which I guess I could, it’s just making me feel so burnt out and making me really hate the field. I know I’m probably going to continue building off of the work experience I have anyways, which is IT related. I know for a fact that I do NOT want to do anything like software engineering.
TLDR: I already have experience as a Network Admin and I’m starting to realize I really hate coding (for the most part). I know I will never go into a field like Software Development. Should I just switch my major from CS to IT?
