2025.01.22 16:00 Simplorian The Closest 5 Influences: Fun and Influential are Different
Good morning, I know I have posted about this in the past and it is not a complicated concept. However, putting into practice has its challenges. I am bringing it up as I had a recent situation with my leadership team on it. First, the 5 closest people in your life influence your decisions and the Paint It Red community is about making better decisions.
I see in other divisions where there are leaders who are close friends with other managers in the company. And although they are friends outside of work, their influence at work is negative. Adapting the bad behaviors of the other manager and creating bad decisions. The one in question has a long history of making poor decisions due to well ( the 7 pillars of Paint It Red). And although he is a nice person, his influence is showing. This is a tough one and would love to hear from the group your experiences with this.
Do you have co-workers that although are friends, their leadership influence on you or others is counterproductive?
Here is some inspiration. Wishing you well today!

2025.01.22 16:00 FrostyDaHoeMan What’s the best way to earn coins from balloon world?
Should I just put a balloon in every kingdom, or will it even let me do that? Or, would it be better to try and find balloons with high rewards? To be clear, I have no idea how to clip out of bounds in the kingdoms so my only option for hiding or finding them is somewhere in bounds. Thanks everyone, and have a great day!

2025.01.22 16:00 Rebelliousdefender Wanna blame this poor guy for "making bad decisions" - instead of accepting that his circumstances made it impossible for him to do much about his fate?
There are always people that completely ignore circumstances and claim that its all about "smart decisions" and whatever. Completely ignoring that they had probably better circumstances than others. Well here a story of a guy I knew. Read his story and then seriously claim that he is to blame for "not trying or making bad decisions".
I couldnt help him much because I and my family had a lot of problems as well during this time. Im ashamed because he had it worse, but I couldnt spare any resources to help:
Mom and Dad divorced when he was 5. Mom was probably worse than dad because the judge gave him to his dad. Well Dad lost a lot of money during the divorce and settled in a poor area. Dad was a wreck after the divorce. Alcoholic, always screaming, sometimes even physcial violence. Money was always tight.
Next public transportation was 3 Miles away. He lived in the middle of nowhere.
Went to a below average school. When he came home his dad would always scream and shout and drink and watch loud TV until like 1 AM. He didnt get enough food, especially healthy food.
He had no role model to guide him, no positive influence. Just an angry dad that had no hobbies or interests apart from drinking and watching TV. He couldnt sleep because of the loud TV. He had barely enough to eat. Next relatives were across half the country.
He developed 0 self confidence because he was always demoralized and intimidated. He had no role model to motivate him to strive for more. He was always punished for "distrubing" his dad. When he was 12 his dad said "well your old enough im not gonna drive you anymore. If you want to get somehwere you have to go on foot". So isolated as well. For any activity he wanted to do, he first had to walk 3 Miles, then drive 20 Miles to the nearest larger town and the same to get back.
He developed some form of Neurosis due to all the stress. Had stomach problems and couldnt eat anything in the morning without throwing up. This went roughly from age 13 to 19.
Became "friends" with some bad people because he was desperate for any form of affection from someone and was unable to discern who was a good/bad influence on him.
After that he withdrew to Video Games. They gave him an escape from harsh reality and made him feel at least some worth. He could control the AvataUnits and actually make choises and receive recognition "You completed the Mission, you are awesome!".
Still - somehow - despite all these obstacles - managed to pass highschool. Most of his marks were B and B+. Pretty good, especially for his circumstances, but not good enough to secure a scholarship anywhere. Due to his neurosis he was thin as hell and couldnt get one through football/baseball either.
When he was 20 he got Tinnitus from all the stress and abuse and couldnt sleep for the next 2 years until he got it to managable levels.
So he started a crappy retail/part time job in order to support himself. Didnt get his drivers license until 22, didnt have money for a car anyways.He didnt have enough money to move out, so he had to stay at home, especially in order to save money and keep student loans at an absolute minimum. He didnt have peace and quiet to learn.
So it was 2-3 hours of walking and taking the bus to the next library/Uni, next to his part time job where he traveled similar distances. He majored in the humanities, because he was afraid that with his circumstances at home that sabotaged all of his learning efforts, he would never be able to complete something complicated like engineering or law or medicine or IT.
After getting his Masters, he did additional qualifications and certificates and managed to move out by age 30. Only because he found a GF and could split the Bill. Now he has an ok office job, but can barely pay his rent because it doubled during the last 5 years while his wage increase was somehwere around 30-40%.
Now hes 40. Escaped from his dad and from the worst poverty, but has no chance to ever create a business. Has never a chance to buy a house.
He was born into bad circumstances. The deck was stacked against him right from the start.
You might claim that he could have gone into the army - yeah sure when you are unwell from the stomach and want to throw up until age 19 half of the day. And when you are weak and untrained because you cant eat to gain strenght. When you have a Tinnitus preventing you to get any sleep for years from age 20 onwards.....
You might claim that he could have studied something different. Well easy to say when he had 0 self confidence and couldnt afford to fail and had a hostile learning environment and was afraid of failure because he couldnt have afforded it.
You might claim that he should have just become homeless. Unless you actually were homeless - f*uck off with this "advice". There is absolutely 0 guarantee that becoming homeless will improve your situation. On the contrary. Being homeless is probably worse than living in a pooabusive home.
If you got lucky and made it - congratulations. But dont pretend that you could have done in his circumstances or in circumstances just slighlty different/worse than yours.
"The quality of your decisions is based on the quality of your options".
And sometimes your options are so bad that no matter how good a decision you make, you will allways fail.

2025.01.22 16:00 subashbusiness95 I Ate ONLY Protein... For a Week? (The Results) Protein Secret: Doctors HATE This Weird Trick Lose Weight? 3 Days High Protein SHOCKED Me... High Protein DIET: Is IT a Lie? (I Tested it...) Protein Weight Loss? The Truth Is SHOCKING...
```markdown
Is Protein Good for Weight Loss? A Comprehensive Guide Understanding the Role of Protein in Weight Management Unveiling the Importance of Protein Okay, friends, let's talk about protein. You know, the stuff that helps your body grow big and strong. Protein is super important, not just for building muscles, but for lots of other things too. It's like the building blocks for your body, helping to make your hair, skin, and nails. It also helps repair your cells. You need it to live. We see that protein is in food and makes our body do what it should. It's a must for everyone, not just people who lift weights. We will see why it's not bad to eat more protein, especially when we look at our health. It's not just for bodybuilders.
How Does Protein Help With Weight Loss? Discover the Science Behind Protein and Satiety Now, this is very cool! How does protein help with losing weight? Well, when you eat protein, it makes you feel full. This is called satiety. You are less hungry. So, you eat less. Also, your body uses more energy to digest protein than other food like rice or bread. This is called the thermic effect of food. More energy is used and this will help you to burn more calories. So you eat less and burn more calories - it is a win win! It is a very good trick for weight loss, you will see. When you eat protein, you may not crave bad food also. This way, you are not only losing weight but also having good food habits. I think that this is why protein is a magic ingredient for weight loss.
Calculating Your Optimal Protein Intake for Weight Loss Finding Your Right Amount of Protein So, how much protein do we need? It is not that we can eat as much as we want. The amount of protein each person needs is a little bit different. If you want to lose weight, most people need to eat more than the normal recommended amount. A common suggestion is around 1.6 to 2.2 grams of protein per kilogram of your body weight. If you weigh 70 kilograms, you might need about 112 to 154 grams of protein each day. This is a lot! To understand your own need, talking to a doctor or a dietician is good. They can guide us with the perfect plan for our bodies. Remember, it's important to find what works best for your unique body.
Best Sources of Protein for Effective Weight Loss Amazing Lean Protein Choices We see that we have to eat protein but what kind of food is this protein? For weight loss, we need to eat the right kind of protein. We should choose foods that are called “lean protein.” Chicken without skin is a great option, as well as fish like tuna and salmon. Beans and lentils are also good, they are not just for vegetarians! Even eggs are a super protein food. Tofu and other soy products can help you get lots of protein if you don't eat meat. We need to choose protein from many different sources to stay healthy. By mixing these in your diet, you will not be bored with food. Remember, choose a protein you like so you don't skip the protein from food.
High-Protein Diet for Weight Loss: Benefits and Considerations What Are the Advantages and Drawbacks? A high-protein diet can be very good for weight loss. It can help you lose fat and keep your muscles when you lose weight. But it can also have some drawbacks. If we eat too much protein it can cause kidney problems for some people. Also if you are eating too much protein you will skip other food that have nutrients for us. So, it is very important to mix your food. Eating too much protein can cause constipation if you do not eat enough fruits and vegetables. It is important to know all things before you jump into the high protein diet. Think of it as finding a good balance for the body.
Protein Supplements for Weight Loss: Are They Necessary? Exploring Protein Powders and Supplements Do you need protein powders to lose weight? Many people wonder if it is necessary to add supplements. If you eat enough protein in your food you do not need extra powder. Protein powder can help if you are having a hard time eating enough protein. Protein shakes and protein bars can be convenient. Especially after you exercise or when you are in a hurry. But they are not magic. They also have some side effects. It's better to get protein from whole foods first. Think of protein supplements as a backup plan and not the first plan. Protein should come from our food always.
2025.01.22 16:00 hktck 1912 Upstate NY House - Asbestos Tiles?
I was subjected to this upstate NY home improvement site in the mid-2000s, and can't stop wondering if I had asbestos exposure. The project was taken over by a contractor in ~2007-2008 and I can't find any asbestos notice online so I'm hoping there was no asbestos, but I also don't know when the database started. (Or if the contractor just kept the tiles there.) The house was built in 1912, and this is a bedroom. I have no idea if the tiles were original. 2025.01.22 16:00 Admirable_Finish_729 Embracing the Beauty of Messy People
Embracing the Beauty of Messy People In a world that often favors conformity and tidy categorizations, I find myself drawn to those who live against the grain—the so-called "messy people." These individuals transcend societal expectations and refuse to fit neatly into the boxes we often construct for ourselves and for each other. They are the artists, the rebels, the dreamers, and the ones who color outside the lines. But what is it about these messy individuals that captivates us?
The Allure of Authenticity Messy people are, first and foremost, authentic. They possess a rawness and transparency that is both refreshing and invigorating. Unlike those who systematically adhere to societal norms, messy individuals embrace their imperfections and quirks. This authenticity cultivates an atmosphere where others feel safe to be themselves, allowing genuine connections to flourish. In their presence, masks slip away, and the vulnerability that stems from being unapologetically oneself becomes a powerful force for change and understanding.
Consider the artist who dares to paint in vibrant hues that defy conventional aesthetics, or the activist who challenges the status quo with unrelenting passion. Their actions often inspire others to confront their own fears and societal chips on their shoulders. Messy people teach us that life is not about fitting in but about standing out by living in alignment with one's values and beliefs.
Integrity Over Rulebooks One of the most admirable qualities of messy people is their unwavering integrity. They may not conform to the rules and regulations laid down by society, but they operate with a moral compass that is strikingly steadfast. While others may be swayed by convenience or public opinion, those with a messy disposition will often prioritize their principles. This strong sense of integrity can create waves of positive change, as messy people are prone to challenge injustices and pursue truth, even when it’s uncomfortable.
In friendships, this integrity shines brightly. Messy individuals demonstrate loyalty that transcends blood ties. They are often the friends who stand by you when the going gets tough, not out of obligation but out of genuine care and commitment. Their dedication is rooted in love and respect rather than mere expectation, and this kind of loyalty creates bonds that are unbreakable.
The Power of Loyalty Loyalty among messy people is profound. They connect with others on a deeper level, fostering relationships that often last a lifetime. While conventional relationships may be transactional, messy friendships are based on mutual support, shared experiences, and an understanding that transcends mere acquaintance. These friendships are characterized by empathy, respect, and a fierce commitment to one another’s well-being.
In turbulent times, it is often the messy people in our lives who rise to the occasion. They are the ones who show up, offering not just words of encouragement but tangible support. Their loyalty—rooted in profound understanding and shared humanity—reminds us that true connection goes much deeper than blood relations. It is about choosing one another, again and again, despite our flaws and imperfections.
Challenging the Status Quo Messy people help us challenge the status quo and question our societal paradigms. They encourage us to think critically and not just accept things as they are. By embracing the messiness of life, they invite us to explore the gray areas where real growth and learning occur. In doing so, they expand our perspectives and inspire us to become more open-minded and accepting of diversity in thought, background, and lifestyle.
Conclusion Ultimately, the beauty of messy people lies in their complexity. They defy easy categorization, embodying a blend of imperfections that make them relatable, inspiring, and utterly human. Their authenticity, integrity, and loyalty remind us that life is not about perfection; it is about connection, growth, and embracing the messiness that comes with being alive. So, let us celebrate the messy people in our lives—the poets, the dreamers, the rebels—for in their embrace of chaos, they unlock the profound beauty of existence itself.
