2025.01.22 15:50 RoyBoy6 Thought cat swallowed a cross-stitch needle, went to vet and x-ray was clear, but I'm still scared.
On Monday around 11:30 am, my cat got a hold of my partners active cross-stitch needle and thread (1.25 inch, straight, dull tip). When we turned around she had the string in her mouth and was actively swallowing - in a panic I grab the thread, she hissed because we were both tackling her, and I pulled the string out with no needle on the end (not my smartest move). I immediately called my vet and they asked is she was gagging or choking, which the answer was no - drinking water normally, and ate a few pieces of kibble normally. She also ate dinner a little slower than normal that evening, but did eat well with no gagging.
We were able to get in for x-rays the next morning and they were clear! The two views included her chest and abdomen and I was so relieved. So I went home and scoured the room with a magnet and combed through the carpet/surrounding area meticulously to find this needle, but to no avail. I cannot find the missing needle and I'm starting to get in my head - the x-rays did not include her entire esophagus or head. What if the needle is lodged in her throat or something like that and she's just hiding her symptoms well. Again she is eating, drinking, and pooping normally with normal energy. Should I go back and ask for head and neck x-rays? Or am I over-thinking and getting myself worked up? I have a very good relationship with my veterinarian (I used to work there as a receptionist) and I already very politely reached out to one of my friends at the practice about my concerns and I didn't really get an answer from her and I don't want to come off like I am questioning their professional opinion on the matter.
Am I being a little freak about this?

Hello, I would like to start this off with the fact that maybe this is a bit wild and childish but I find a lot of enjoyment in the fictional gambling mindset. Does that say something about me? Anywho, as a very young child I used to play Neopets on the family computer and found enjoyment in it. Then the servers shut down and honestly, I felt like I lost everything. Jump a few years in the future and its back and I'm playing it again. And guess what? Food Club Bets have taken over my life!
Here's what I am trying to figure out as I want to make the highest amount of NP each time I bet. Here's how it works:
A group of pirates come together to devour immense amounts of food where they have a favorite food that they will eat quite quickly and allergies that will slow them down (I'll provide the graphs for the theme). - Turn the gravestone into a pseudo-shrine
- 3 sec cooldown
- Bone counter resets every x seconds (x= current ability cooldown)
- Can be manually placed
- I dislike the current inconsistency being able to render a new horde untouchable by a character on auto
- This will lead to exploitative horde spots, but it sounds super fun and isn’t exploitation the point of the game?
- Can’t skill on auto when gravestone is active
- Hordes hold target priority within a certain radius around them
- I keep getting stuck on respawned mobs instead of the horde which would kill them via combustion anyways

I got a TJO from USACE as a 5407 Power Plant Operator for one of the dams on the Columbia river. 3h seems like a clear fit for a qualifying exemption. Should I just cross my fingers and hope HR sees this to my advantage or is it worth bringing up to try and keep my job? On one hand I have a keen sense of self-preservation but on the other I don't want to remotely come off like I'm trying to tell someone how to do their job--especially because there may be more to the story I am not aware of.

From what I've seen Fastmail has a lot of good reviews here, and I like the UI, but people were really helpful when I asked about Proton so I'm doing it again. This would be the first time I've paid for an email service, but 5-ish bucks a month is still very affordable for me. It also doesn't require a separate domain. My only fear is that other websites won't recognise it and bounce my mail back, or not allow me to sign up for their services. I've read that happens sometimes with Proton, which is one reason I've decided not to go with them. So is fastmail as good as it seems?
