My brother found a really cute piece of bread and started dating it. I was furious. A voice in my head started saying, "Kill him, kill your brother," and after a while... I caved in.
I grabbed a large metal hammer and started beating the absolute shit out of him. "How dare you get a hotter piece of bread than me!" I screamed.
Eventually, he died. I was satisfied until I realized something... I had stepped on the bread, crushing it completely... I'm currently lying on the ground, bawling my fucking eyes out.
I really hope that my parents don't find out about what I did...

I was just placed in charge of the floor scrubber machines from training to making sure they actually work for instance my store has a big problem of no one using prominence (the yellow soap you fill a mop bucket with) when they go around the deli we are supposed to press the prominence button because the floors get very obviously dirty and its especially bad when we wax over it. It is now my job to train/retrain our floor care people how to do use prominence around the deli and how to fill it up when out, as well as make sure the machines actually work, I’ve had to break out my own personal tools a few times to fix them, anyway if anyone has some advice on either improving the way we use our machines or training my team members mostly older than myself it would be appreciated

I have been long Nvidia since 2015 and in my professional life appraise commercial/industrial real estate, so part of my focus is on data center development projects. The market seems to think that Nvidia's data center growth will be short-lived but the development community thinks otherwise.
Some interesting quotes:
"The rapid adoption of artificial intelligence is driving the financing of data center development to record highs, but AI workloads may still represent only a fraction of the world's data center capacity by 2030.
AI workloads are expected to represent less than 50% of data center capacity in five years, with cloud-based applications and traditional data storage making up most data center demand, JLL said in its report.
"AI is in its infancy," Michael Rareshide, a partner at Site Selection Group, told CoStar News. "There's a lot of growth ahead for AI."
Regarding power needs:
The rise of next-generation AI is requiring higher rack density and advanced cooling technology — all of which need more power. Still, data centers are only expected to represent about 2% of the world's electricity consumption this year, JLL said. The increase in data center electricity demand through 2030 is projected to be less than a third of the power needed for both electric vehicles and air conditioning, according to JLL's report.
Several notable nuclear deals were reached in 2024, including Michigan's Palisades Nuclear Plant and Three Mile Island. In addition, the development of small modular reactors, which are a smaller and less powerful nuclear reactor compared with traditional nuclear power plants, gained momentum last year, and agreements are expected to double in 2025, JLL said in the report.
The company also said technology for small modular reactors is still in the early stages of development, adding that commercial deployment in the U.S. is not expected until 2030 at the earliest. But if the reactors materialize as a credible green power source, it could significantly impact site selection and design for data center development, JLL said."

However, I don't usually wear yellow gold. I want to buy one, but I would hate to buy one and have it sit in a jewelry box because I decided it doesn't match my other jewelry. 2025.01.23 20:51 whenthedont If you had one entire year, what skill or skills would you dedicate yourself towards learning full-time?
I’m going to be on savings for a year, in Brazil. Me and my Brazilian partner want to both live there, so visa and residency is not an issue.
However, within this first year there, I intend to build some valuable skills to best position myself for remote work. This can be freelance, or a U.S based job (which will be far more unlikely, while living in Brazil…) I’m only intending to make $1500-$2000 a month once I start out working, that will be more than enough and I feel as though it would be achievable after a year of building my toolbox.
I have an Associate’s degree in IT, but I don’t have any of those skills anymore as this was years ago and I landed in welding for many years after. However, I think it should still be leveraged towards a career path in IT. I still need to look at different avenues though, of course, to see where my interest will land.
That leads me to the question- what specific skills would you recommend someone to consider if they have an entire year to study, and learn full time?
As far as coding, what language/s and software do you recommend and why?
I’ve looked at sales, how does one enter this field aiming towards remote work?
I’ve looked at digital marketing, is this not over saturated? Do people really just take online courses and jump in?
Interested to hear thoughts and answers on all of these things, I’m not expecting any of this to be easy, or quick; I’m just trying to shape a direction now. If I can start a path, I’ll bust my ass for 12 months. But there are just so many different options, and I’m looking at the ratio of personal enjoyability/passion to work acquisition timeframe in a chosen field.

I've got an Ergodox Glow I use at work. Yesterday I got a new Dell precision tower with a Xeon cpu to replace my old HP Z2 both on Windows 11. Since the change I've noticed my keyboard has been acting a little odd- I was in a meeting this morning and it switched over to my second layer when I wasn't touching it. I then noticed the left side stopped working. I unplugged and plugged it back in and no dice. Restarted the PC and everything was fine. A few hours later the exact same thing happen again. I checked all the cables, trying a different mini USB and removing a hub from the equation and reflashed the firmware just in case, then a moment ago it happened again. Are there any compatibility issues with Xeon chips or any known things that could be causing this?
