2025.01.24 10:01 asianblob i'm extremely terrified of losing loved ones
i've always lived with very severe anxiety ever since i was a kid. thinking about things like death and the loss of people in my life horrifies me so much it gets in the way of my present life. i think way too far into the future a lot and often miss out on what's happening in real time and i'm terrified of that happening.
i have a really large fear of being alone, whether it would be having no friends or family, doesn't matter. it scares me to think that i might not have those support systems in the future. i've never really thought of myself as a "loveable" person due to my very high anxiety so i'm struggling horribly.
maybe i'm just being really anxious and paranoid and it might just sound super dumb but, recently my friend showed me a scene from Squid Game 2 about a mother and her son. something about it just stuck with me for the next week or so.
i'm asian, chinese to be specific and everytime i see an elderly asian person, i get really really sad. my mom had me when she was 45, i'm the youngest of my 2 other siblings (brother: 24, sister: 32) and i've come to the realization that in like ten years, i'll be a young adult and my mom will be 70. the concept of age and death has never hit me so hard before.
i've also realized that i've never had any kind of exposure to death at all. i have a dog, i'm horrified of losing him. i've never lost a pet when i was a younger kid or really lost anyone that close to me. i would say that i cry A LOT. i get overwhelmed by a lot and just thinking of that kinda stuff makes me just want time to stop forever.
growing up sucks, realizing that my mom won't be by my side forever sucks. it's really awful to think that one day, i might be crying at her side. not to mention, i barely have any support. coming from an immigrant family with siblings who don't want anything to do with each other, it's hard to find comfort in a person in a way like that.
i've never had a good relationship with my dad, i still hate his guts. but i don't have any other support system as all my relatives live in china. my brother and sister will most likely have started their own families already but i'll probably still be doing school.
i just wish i was born earlier so i could at least spend more of my life with her. i'm extremely busy most of the time and stressed out a lot and i'm scared of all the time lost with her.

PS: Ich habe einige Kurzgeschichten wie „Das Brot", „Küchenuhr" und „Ein Netter Kerl" während des Literaturlernens gelesen, da ich Germanistik studiere, aber das ist das erste Mal für mich, einen Roman zu lesen.
