What to do about spalling brickwork? It looks like flaking paint but it’s the surface of the brick that’s coming off with the paint Remove paint and redo with limewash paint? Is there a thincoat breathable system I can put on them? Should I waterproof them? The bricks without the paint were damaged from previous render removal (render was down to the ground) and are ugly which is why they were painted. Some have also already been filled in with cement where there was damage - paint hid this! What do I do? The bottom course looks less opaque and not spalled as only one watered down was applied there. Could that be work on all the bricks? Could a dodgy flat roof with water run off cause this as well? The gutters and trim were don’t very poorly.

I'm writing this for my partner as she isn't a redditor, and I created a new account to prevent identity. My partner works for a Multinational company as a Purchase Ledger Admin. She has worked there for 8 years and has a further 11 years of experience, but is unqualified . In the last 12 months a new Management accountant was recruited as her line manager. Unfortunately, he appears incompetent and constantly asks her to do additional tasks that should be within his own job role.
Because he appears to have an inability to learn, he panics whenever she goes on holiday and most of her tasks were still waiting for her as they do not cover her role. They also changed to new software with negligible training, so many things take a lot longer due to lack of templates etc. When she asks for help, it's rare that this is provided or is told to read the written instructions, and he doesn't like it when she asks for help from higher ups in the International division. He also constantly gives her tasks through Teams, which she is reluctant to do as there is no email trail to cover her.
He also asks her to do additional tasks without setting a priority. He recently asked her to do something by end of day whilst she was working on month end. When she sought clarification, he mentioned it was "desirable" but refused to give a priority.
Her Director sometimes helps and seems to be putting pressure on her manager, but it's still not an ideal situation. Her managers have started calling her the AP Manager but without any official recognition or pay increase.
I'll finally get to the point of this post by saying she asked for annual leave starting on the 4th of the month after month end returning before new month end, but he has refused this by saying it was too many days off i.e 13 working days. Her Letter of Employment states that "the taking of annual leave is at the discretion of the company". So that does appear unequivocal.
Is it correct that she can be blocked from taking holidays for around 120 days per year ? She feels that her job has become assisting him while also expected to manage the ledger.
They also do not have an HR department as such, but the head of HR is her Director.
This tension and pressure is really effecting her mental health and she has talked about leaving, but she is in her mid-50's and is unsure about getting another job at this stage. Alongside the fact that she worked there for so many years without issue.
She is based in the NW UK and her current salary is 27K.
I'm also not sure if this the best subreddit to post to, so apologies if not.

Yesterday I asked my crush out. She would like to try out a middle to high-end restaurant for its food. I was a bit nervous because the reviews on Yelp showed the service of the restaurant was not superb. But I had to please her so we went there.
Things all went downhill after we sat down. It took 5 minutes for the server to bring menus, and took another 10 minutes for her to come and take our orders. My crush already studied their menu before we stepped into the establishment. Either did I need so much time to decide. I raised my hand as a schooler who needed to pee in class, and no servers noticed me. I accidentally said "hello" out loud, and a senior server noticed and yelled at me that "You need to be polite. Other people are eating. Your server will come." To resolve my embarrassment, I continued the conversation with my crush. To keep the vibe warm I used up most of my stories in the first 15 minutes just because my server didn't come.
When we were ordering, we made another mistake. When the server asked "do you like your desserts to come together or after your entrees", we shouldn't have answered "after" because we must flag her down again when we finish our entrees. I knew I couldn't use voices, so I kept using my eye contact or sticking my arm into the sky like I was signaling a touchdown. What's worse, when I was doing this, I couldn't focus on talking, and I couldn't answer my angles's questions. Finally our server came, I said "We are ready for the desserts" and she said OK and put a menu on the table. Only after a while did we realize the server mistook us as wanting to read the menu, rather than having the desserts that we had already ordered. Of course, it was one more nightmare to call a server and communicate our intent.
Overall, the dating experience was horrible. My angle must think I was some sort of helpless mess who couldn’t even handle calling a server, so how could I protect her in a tough situation.
So the question is, what’s the proper way to get a server’s attention without looking like a total weirdo? Sticking an arm into the sky or catching eye contact is not effective in my point of view. Or, calling servers shouldn't be a problem at all. Servers will come to us on schedule, and I just have to prepare more stories and jokes to fill the time?
To be honest, I usually eat at the cafeteria in my school or fast-food joints where servers are standing at the cashier for my disposal. But fine dining places are a whole different animal to me. How do I avoid the problems next time?

Hey, I've just started making mead and I really enjoy it so far. I've purchased a bunch those 1 gallon jugs with airlocks and just racked my first traditional mead into another vessel. However, since I lost a bit from racking the jug is only about 60% full. I've heard that there should be very little headspace in secondary so I feel like I have a problem.
I can't seem to find nice 3L jugs/jars with airlocks online (and I'd rather use the 1 gallon ones I have here), but I do want to take the headspace issue serious. What should I do?

In December, my partner was offered a promotion to branch manager of a store that has been struggling for a few years, and where the previous manager had recently quit. He accepted the promotion (there was no paperwork signed, but an agreed pay increase) and started in the role in the first week of January. He was told there was a 6-month probation period, but that the position was his.
Now, out of the blue, the regional team has changed the role to a secondment, stating they are bringing in another manager from a different store and that they won't be keeping him after February. They want him to go back to his previous job and train him to be a manager under the new manager coming in.
Had he known this from the start, he wouldn’t have accepted the promotion. Is there anything legally he can do? He’s been working for the company for over 4 years and is based in England.
Could you help clarify this?

So I managed to connect minecraft between deck and switch.
Turned out it wasn't so difficult, but at the same time it wasn't super simple either.
First you need to buy only the bedrock edition, as Java will not work. Unfortunatelly you need to buy it twice, once for switch and one from google play.
The installation of Minecraft on deck is fairly simple, you can just follow one of many tutorials about it on youtube, there is just one step that I couldn't find solution for and it was that you need to buy Minecraft on google play
Once you have it - you need two separate Microsoft accounts and just find each account and start new game
