First of all. Sorry if this question doesn't really belong here, but I couldn't think where else to ask!
So I have an Anbernic RG 405M, which I enjoy, but at my age I'm starting to struggle with the small screen and buttons.
My question is; does anyone have any experience with these retro game emulators that plug into you TV? Can any of them be recommended?
I would be looking for a "works right outta the box" experience. I'm not into tinkering, I just want to play, so no suggestions to "buy a Pi and make your own" please!
Ideally I would like it to be powerful enough to play up to and including PS1/Dreamcast, maybe even PSP...

A few days ago I had an allergic reaction, according to the doctors, to some component of cream or makeup. They referred it to atopic dermatitis, I still have marks and redness, but they told me to try applying creams, they didn't give me any more solution. Has anyone had something similar happen to them? Or what creams could you recommend? Thank you :)

The first 50 chapters have been published today, with new ones scheduled to be released every day. A friend fluent in Korean has also told me that the translation is both earnest and of commendable quality, which is great news.
This is a heartwarming day for me, because I love Korean storytelling a lot. In fact, the first web novel I ever read was Omniscient Reader, and it is still one of my absolute favorites. Last year, I had the pleasure of visiting Korea, and apart from eating tteokbokki on Namsan, watching Train to Busan on a train to Busan, and humming a song in the King of Mask Singer studio, I also managed to purchase a paperback edition of Omniscient Reader in a bookstore (even though it’s in Korean, which I don’t speak ;]).
So, I really hope that Korean readers will receive Shadow Slave well.

I sadly now have unfounded beef with the Egyptian Fruit bat because sciencing. com used a picture of it in an article about my favorite bat (which isn’t the Egyptian Fruit bat). I was really just wondering if any of y’all’s on here are also bat enthusiasts. Here is an info-dump to prove my qualifications as a bat enthusiast.
The scientific name for bats is Chiroptera, which comes from the Greek words chiropractic, meaning hand, and -ptera, meaning wing. Thus, their name means “hand wing”, which makes sense, as the boney looking part of their wings is actually their fingers. They are the only known mammals able to fly. Every year, bats save the agricultural industry billions of dollars, as they can help pollinate, spread seeds, control insect populations, and decrease the need for pesticides. Many threats to bats are human caused, such as pollution, wind turbines, pesticides decreasing the amount of food safe for them to eat, loss of places to live, and many other factors. Other threats are lack of water, environments too warm (due mostly to climate change), and diseases such as White-nose Syndrome, which causes the death of more than 2 million bats per year.
WNS was found in New York in 2006, and it is a fungal disease. Its name comes from the fact that it makes the noses of bats look like they’re covered in some white powder. The disease causes an increase in metabolism and holes to form in wings of bats. Because bats hibernate during the winter and stay alive through stored fats, higher metabolism can cause them to run out of stored fats during hibernation or force them to leave to hunt during the night when temperatures are below freezing, which can cause death from starvation. It spread to 40 US states and 8 Canadian provinces. The Little Brown bat was very affected by WNS, as while it used to be a common bat, it decreased to endangered. On one site, there were around 10,000 Little Brown bats in the winter of 2007/2008, but that number decreased to 14 by the winter of 2008/2009. Early on, there was no way to prevent the spread of WNS and certainly no cure or treatment for it. Since then, from a report in 2024, several options have developed and are still in testing. A vaccine and antibiotic have been made, and disinfection of caves with UV-C light (similar to the method used for COVID-19), spraying of antifungal fog, and temperature regulation (making it colder, as the disease survives best in warm, damp climates) have all been tested.
My favorite bat is the Bumblebee bat. It is the world’s smallest mammal by body length at 1.1-1.3 inches (2.9-3.3 centimeters). Its actual given name is Kitti’s hog-nosed bat, named after Kitti Thonglongya, a Thai Mammalogist and Ornithologist who discovered the bats in 1974 along the Thailand Myanmar border in Limestone caves near rivers. He found them when he was researching the bat population of Thailand. Sadly, he died on February 6th of 1974 of a massive heart attack while playing tennis, one of his favorite sports of the time, so his colleague and friend John Edwards Hill had to publish the research on Thonglongya’s behalf. Hill was the one that named the bats, choosing to honor Thonglongya in their name. Their scientific name is Craseonyteris thonglongyai, meaning Craseoncyteris of Thonglongya. The Bumblebee bat is the sole member of the Craseonycteridae family, as its discovery meant a new genus, family, and species of bat was discovered. The research was published to the Bulletin of The British Museum (Natural History) Zoology. The last count of the species by the IUCN Red List was in 2018, and their population was determined to be decreasing. They were listed as Vulnerable until 2008, and have since been listed as Near Threatened (IUCN Red List). The feast on arthropods like spiders, beetles, and flies, hunting using the air in their mouthes. As they are microbats, they use echolocation to navigate. Its arm length is 0.9-1 in (2.2-2.6 cm), its hanging height is 2.4-2.75 in (6-7 cm), its wingspan is 5.9-6.7 in (15-17 cm), and its weight is 0.05-0.07 ounces (1.4-2 grams). It has a lifespan of 5-10 years.
