Something's feeling off recently. Although I'm slowly dropping in rank, the matchups seem significantly harder than they used to be only some days ago. I do not think my skill has just gone out the window. I've never seen this level of coordination, consistent individual skill and understanding of the game in my rank, which is now Gold 4. Even as I was close to ranking up to Plat, the game felt more forgiving and the room for getting away with errors was like a ballroom compared to today's dusty little space under the stairs. The lobbies also feel wildly unfair now - it's like the game is setting you up against people who are setting the new standard for the skill level of your rank. My question is this - does anyone share my experience? Can anyone perhaps confirm that this phenomenon exists? And lastly, how much do you think has the release of Marvel Rivals contributed to this? Is the group of casual players who drifted away from Overwatch really large enough, that the pool of more devoted/skillful players makes up that much more of the player base?

I was thinking recently about the power dynamics between businesses and labor unions. I came to the conclusion that unions can become too powerful because they might be able to derail the competitive nature of a business and undermine this natural capitalistic force. However, I still think they are necessary for promoting economic growth, by giving consumers the buying power to spur this growth and innovation. Historically, when labor unions have had power, wages have been able to keep up with rising costs. (Observe figure 9 of the article)
The problem with my assumptions is that I have no statistics to back them up. If I start with the premise that economic growth is good for both the consumer and the company, then how do labor unions participate in harming or helping this growth? Do labor unions end up helping or harming the economy in the long term with comparison to less labor union activity? Does this dynamic end up helping or hurting consumers more?
I hold the opinion that the preservation of an economic middle class is great for an economy because of the innovation and balance they provide. But I am no economist. So I was interested on hearing what others would have to say about the topic so I could learn about it, and I figured this would be the right place to ask.

So my girlfriend had glandular fever about 8 months ago and was really ill. She has recovered from that but everytime she gets a cold or anything now it’s a lot more serious than just cold symptoms due to that Illness. ATM she has had about 2 weeks off work so far and today said that she was fed up and bored of being stuck inside. We still both live with our parents as 22 and 20 however we FaceTime when we can throughout the day. What are some things I could get her to maybe relieve her boredom or that she can do whilst she is off work and can’t go anywhere due to illness.

Pixel 8a My phone has gotten warm at least 3 times since the update something that only happened before when I was setting it up for the first time, I know the tensor G3 is know for having this issues but I haven't had any problems until now. Something else that bothers me quite a lot is the new bug with the close animations where it shows your lock screen for a mili second before starting the actuall animation making the whole process seem jittery and unpolished. If I had the choice I would go back to beta 3. Don't take this as me complaining as I knew something like this could happen as a beta tester just make sure you think about it when updating.
