In the attached photo: • The red box marks my future home site. • The red circle shows where the video was taken. • The blue dotted line indicates a ditch on the southeast corner. The field is very flat, so any low points tend to hold water and stay muddy. I know that having a yard with grass will help firm up the ground over time, but my main concern is the hill on the north side of the property, which seems to be contributing runoff. A few details about the site: • There’s a 2016 survey, but I haven’t consulted an engineer yet. • The land is not in a flood zone, but a nearby area floods badly enough to cover the road during storms. I have a few questions: 1. Would it help to use fill dirt to raise the home site and yard? Is it worth the cost? 2. Should I consider running drain tiles to the ditch on the south side of the field? 3. For those who have built on similar land, did it stay muddy after construction, or did conditions improve? I know talking to an engineer and surveyor is the best course of action, but I’d appreciate insights from anyone with experience dealing with similar situations. Went to the new update and my PS4 Pro sounded like a jet engine. My freighter would pop in and out and in a space station my screen kept glitching out.

I bought a tablo years ago hoping to cut the cord. (Before gen 4) I bought a 1TB SSD with it. I set it up and Recorded a few shows. But at that time I had Directv and my wife wasn't willing to part with it, plus I really didn't know about many streaming network. At that time Netflix is all I knew about. So I really didn't use it. Years later Tablo Gen 4 came out and it had a free guide and didn't need external storage. So I bought one on sale. I loved it. Also there where more Streaming network, So I cut the cord in a way. I've had a few Tablo problems along the way. I believe most of them were my modem messing up the guide and never securing my Antenna to the wall. Overall it was a good investment. I watch Network TV most of the time. With Directv I was spending $170 month, now less than $40 with Netflix,Disney/hulu and others. Tablo's are great I love my Tablo.

I just finished reading Bringing up Bebe about French parenting, and some tips and tricks to have well-mannered and calm children. I’m wondering how many people read the book and tried to follow some of the advice, and if it worked for you in real life.
I’m due in April with my first child, but I’ve been a middle school teacher for the last 4 years, so I’ve spent a lot of time around kids. And so much in the book really identifies with me as a person, and as a teacher. Reading about ‘the big eyes’ was funny because this is me in a school environment for sure.
When I first found out I was pregnant, I was very worried that my life would stop and everything would become about the child. The book kind of reconfirmed for me that that did not have to be the case, and that my needs / our needs as the adults and parents also matter.
Anyway, what are others thoughts on the book and incorporating it into real life? Especially in an American context, where (I feel) there is a lot of pressure to give your child all the attention, all the time.
