Just started playing in a few beer league games and I was surprised at how many guys just hang in the neutral zone to cherry pick. After a couple times happening in game, it started to make sense - the less mobile guys just wanting easy goals. Which whatever, fair that you want to score. Hardscape almost done, thoughts/suggestions? So this is my first time making a proper hardscape for a vivarium, it’s a 90x45x90 and I’ll be putting my emerald tree skinks in it. The only thing left to do is add some roots and diy vines, and just fix some mistakes. But like what we thinking, how is it looking so far? Any suggestions and/or tips? Loved music as a little kid. Lost all understanding of the point of it for a year or so, but ever since I was eight I've been actively listening to different artists. Music has been very meaningful. I love good lyrics and melodies. Almost all genres of music are welcome to my ear, foreign and domestic. I've played instruments and do. The quality of my ear for music comes and goes. Learning also varies.
Speech has always been difficult for me, the kind you had to memorize in school. I've never been able to do it verbatim. It's always a thousand times better to freestyle completely based on a few leading words. That's how I managed it. And when I actually prepared, it went very well. Now I've realized that my stupid memory has transferred issues to my interest in music. I can’t sing along to lyrics well at all.
It's not about songs I've only heard once. My favorite songs that I've heard hundreds of times are impossible to sing along to. One time I can play it and remember certain lyrics, another time completely different parts and the third none at all. It varies completely. And it's not like I'm surprised by the lyrics. I've heard it and remember the plot. I know it when I hear it but before that it's a mystery. I'm surprised at how the brain can work this way. Especially when it can be so extremely easy for others.
I get jealous of my friends who can sing along to so many songs. They can do it completely drunk with every sentence almost intact. I can't fucking figure it out sober. Music I've tried to imprint sober, meaning given myself an hour to memorize, disappears after like two beers. Sometimes, however, I can happen to sing several verses of a song completely unprovoked, in my everyday life. It could be a song I didn't know I could sing. When I try again, my brain doesn’t need to know a single word. It feels incomprehensible. Things are in my head that I don't have access to on demand. Things that can come about by pure chance.
It's not a particularly big concern for a person in most aspects of life. I don’t work in the music business. It just makes me dissatisfied and a little sad. I love music. I love the art form of attaching meaning to a small string of words, lyrics.
My complaint is over.
