Hi everyone,
I’m hoping someone here can help clear up some confusion I have about applying to Australia via the Competent Authority Pathway (CAP).
Here’s my background:
I graduated from medical school in Poland, a country in Europe that’s recognized by both the Australian Medical Council (AMC) and the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS).
I am currently working in Ireland as an intern, completing my 12-month internship.
My partner (not married, not a doctor) is moving to Australia, and I would love to join him to close the distance.
From what I’ve read, it seems that the Competent Authority Pathway requires either:
1) Graduation from a medical school in a recognized Competent Authority country (e.g., Ireland, UK, Canada, etc.), AND experience in another competent authority country
OR
2) Passing PLAB and registration in the UK before being eligible for the pathway AND experience in another competent authority country
Since I didn’t graduate in Ireland but am completing my internship there, I’m confused about whether that makes me ineligible for the Competent Pathway. Would completing my Irish internship count, or is my Polish degree a disqualifier?
Alternatively, if I write and pass PLAB in Dublin and get registered with the GMC in the UK, would that make me eligible for CAP?
If anyone here has graduated from Europe and is working in Australia as an RMO or PGY2-equivalent via provisional registration, please share your experience. I’ve done so much reading and don’t want to give up before even trying, but I’m stuck in this confusing eligibility maze.

I’m in the process of building a directory from scratch with Next.js and TailwindCSS. I’ll deploy on Vercel.
I wasn’t happy with any of the templates or formats with current directory builders and none seemed convenient for a nationwide business directory site with hundreds of static pages which is what I wanted.
I’ve already got like 12,000 rows of data (12k businesses) which include name, address, hours, website, services provided, etc., but there’s no way for me to easily integrate live Google business reviews unless I pay a ton for the Google Places API.
Has anyone found a convenient workaround for displaying Google business reviews on their own directory site? I’ve considered maybe trying to scrape the Google Business shareable links and just displaying those alongside each business to let directory users quickly jump to the Google business profile…
Idk, thoughts?

Me and my gf have been dating for almost 3 months and she’s always had problems with sh and substance abuse she’s stopped on all of that but she’s also suicidal and is constantly thinking about it. I don’t know how to help her or what to do cause I’m scared and I’ve tried talking to her and I’m always there for her and honestly everything you can think of. It’s really hurting me on the inside knowing she hates being sober and wants to kill herself. Hey folks, I’m hoping you may be able to help me out. I have a DM11 with the W2 deep blue emitter, and I love it. I’m looking to get a DM11 with a red emitter and a DM11 with a green emitter. On Hank’s website, the only option I see for the red is the SST-20, but on jlhawaii’s store I see he has options for both the W1 red and W2 red. Are there any noticeable differences with these emitters? Do you have any personal preferences? Also, the standard optic on these lights is the 3.8°, correct? Thanks in advance for any help or insight you may have.

2025.01.22 20:50 Pashe14 Confused about relational depth therapy for bpd traits

This isn't an anti-therapy post, I'm genuinely trying to understand this process. I am in trauma-informed long term depth relational therapy. I am autistic and have some bpd traits/bpd among other things which apparently this is a good modality for (please don't tell me to do DBT, been there). My understanding is that the relationship is supposed to be healing but the constant disconnections are so triggering I can't take it. The set up of building trust and depth and deep vulnerability makes it hurt so much more. The depth of work and chaos caused by my issues mean the relationship is constantly being challenged and the therapist can't pick up the pieces quickly enough or meet me fully enough, I'm hypersensitive to disconnections and dissonance between words and expressions so little shifts can throw me. Even if I'm dissociated, the end of session still means call ends and that feeling of being left while struggling and cut off of empathy can be so triggering an feels like I'm just learning to get exposure to abandonment feelings. I'm wondering if I or my therapist is missing something or if its just like needing to accept the limitations.
