So me and my wife are thinking of purchasing these for our 14yr old for Christmas since it looks like there are so many deals going on right now the price seems pretty good to take advantage of. But I wanted to know the following,
1) I see he needs to have a Facebook account in order to use them. How much does he need to use Facebook in order for him to enjoy these? He does not have Facebook and we don't him to have Facebook. So wasn't sure if this will impact usages. We are aware that an account needs to be created.
2) I see there are so many versions of these glasses. What version is best to get for him. He does not need or use glasses currently.
3) realistically how is the battery life?
4) is a new pair coming in a few months?

Hi, does anyone here have an elevated D-Dimer? I've had multiple ER visits over the last couple years, chest pain and all the good stuff that comes with costo. They always rule out anything cardiac and dangerous, but the past year they checked my D-dimer and it was 1,050 (supposed to be under 500) they've done CTs for blood clots and nothing found. They've been monitoring my D dimer and it's been staying in the low 1000s and they still haven't figured out why. My regular doctor just basically diagnosed me with costochondritis and I'm wondering if there's a link with high D dimer and costo. D-dimer can apparently be high from inflammation in the body, I'm curious if anyone else has the same thing going on, thanks!

Long story short, for the past month I’ve been sticking to a 1500 calorie a day deficit and have lost only two kilos in the month.
Had one cheat day, due to a bday and this morning it’s all back on.
How do you keep going, how is this torture defeated? Other than starving yourself, because I’m eating all nutritious foods, how do you get there.
My days for the past month have literally been spent counting and making sure everything that goes in is within a “frame” of the 1500 to stick to a defect .
All this hard work and strain, and for what?

I've got a good 50 years left in me to endure this planet. (Probably working years! Assuming no nukes, WWIII, or extinction level/climate events knock me off first; but here's hoping!) I'm wanting to switch my focus on the work front.
That's 50 years of energy I can channel into burning this system to the ground. I can start anywhere and chip away at this indefinitely.
I'm a Canadian practicing pagan witch living in Costa Rica, mid-thirties, I have no spouse, no kids, no pets, no health problems, nothing tying me down. I can be anywhere and do anything. My specialty is copy/content editing and (fiction) writing. I've been running my own freelance business as an editor for more than a decade, and I do have a career in the writing industry that I would continue working on. Frankly, I'm plenty capable of doing anything for work and I've got no allegiances. I'm willing to learn anything. I've got the time. If I have to get more degrees, I can do that. I've got BAs in Psych and Soci from a Canadian uni.
My overhead is low, my rage is high. I need to make enough money to afford housing and food, but that's it. Please, point me in a direction, friends. What do you recommend I do for some meaningful, system-disrupting, remote work that supports women (and fellow witches, if possible!)?
